About Kuchlbauer
Kuchlbauer traces its brewing roots back to 1300, when brewing rights were granted in Abensberg. Today, this Bavarian wheat beer specialist is run by the ninth generation of the Horsch family, who acquired the brewery and the Zum Kuchlbauer restaurant in 1904.
Traditional recipes remain central to its approach, supported by water drawn from a private well and the brewery's own cultivated yeast strains. Long-term relationships with regional growers supply Hallertau hops and barley from the Bavarian Jura and Gäuboden, keeping local ingredients at the heart of its brewing.
The result is a brewery story rooted in place, family and a longstanding dedication to Bavarian weissbier.
