A Wickedly Hoppy Non-Alcoholic Fruity IPA from Scotland's Williams Bros
Alien Form AF is wickedly hoppy, gloriously fruity and genuinely alien in its flavour intensity. Brewed with a six-hop blend of Cascade, Citra, Amarillo, Mosaic, Galaxy and Sabro, and fermented with a Thiolised yeast to unlock fuller fruit aromas and mouthfeel, it delivers peach and apricot-forward hop flavours with bitter-sweet balance, grainy malt and a soft, hazy, pale gold finish. All the IPA character, none of the alcohol.
Vegan friendly. Calories: 101 per 440ml can (23 per 100ml). 0.5% ABV.
Why Thiolised Yeast Makes Better Alcohol Free Beer?
Thiolised yeast solves one of the biggest challenges in alcohol-free brewing: making the beer actually taste vibrant, fruity and complex — not thin, sweet or worty.
Hidden inside malt and hops are odourless chemical compounds called thiols. In normal brewing, standard yeast leaves them locked up and flavourless. Thiolised yeast contains an active enzyme (beta-lyase) that sets these compounds free, releasing intensely aromatic flavours of passion fruit, guava, grapefruit and tropical citrus — even at tiny trace levels.
For alcohol-free beer, this is a game-changer. Because alcohol carries and amplifies flavour, removing it can leave beer tasting flat and cardboard-like. Thiolised yeast compensates by delivering a massive punch of natural fruitiness that makes AF beer taste genuinely hoppy, aromatic and full of character. Williams Bros use it in all their alcohol-free beers — and it shows.
